Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites! Where I discuss things from the week that I love or have inspired me in some way. Can you guys believe it’s already June? I cannot believe how fast this year is going and need to make it slow down just a tad. It seems like just yesterday I was talking about the kids coming for the summer and now they will be here in T minus two weeks y’all! Seriously I can’t even begin to tell you how very nervous I am that Jon won’t have a bed to sleep in let alone a designed space.
Luckily I have a pretty good idea of where this room is going so sit back and enjoy the ride ladies and gentleman, I am either going to fall flat on my face or I surprise everyone myself included. The plan is to paint this weekend then it will be a mad dash to get the room finished, styled and photographed before the 16th of this month!
As I write this it sounds so easy but the reality is it is a ton of work and I will be damn lucky if nothing crazy happens that causes a delay. Remember that Master Bedroom Reveal that nearly killed me less a month ago? Well, those are the thoughts I have running through my head right now but sometimes you just have no choice but to throw the “what if’s” out the window and press the gas.
Tuesday I will reveal our design plans for the space so you guys can get a good idea where this is headed. If I could describe the space in just a few words it would be beachy California while staying in line with our whole home color palette of blues, grays, and whites. So if you aren’t already a regular follower be sure to sign up for updates or stop back by Tuesday to see our plans.
Well, last week I told you guys I came to my senses and was ready to pull the trigger on two recliners instead of a loveseat. So Wednesday night we went and picked up the recliners and returned the loveseat which ended up being an epic fail! We were all excited because we were finally going to have recliners and after two hours at the store we finally wrapped everything up and headed home with them. As soon as we had them put together and got them in place we both knew it would never work.
For starters, our living room is much longer than it is wide, like a long rectangle so they were bigger than they should be in order to work in the space and we couldn’t go any smaller because Wayne wouldn’t be comfy in some tiny chair. So after discussing it and weighing our options, we both decided that the loveseat is the only thing that will provide enough seating which we really need now so as much as we both hate to do it we are going to go get our loveseat back.
Honestly, I am just happy that we were able to sell our brown couches sooner than we thought and get this new lighter set. It is really everything we wanted in a sofa so I am fine with it. There really is no other way considering our living room shape, size and the fact that one whole wall is taken up by the built-ins and fireplace.
This week I was floored at all of the unique finds I stumbled upon and I hope you enjoy them as well.

Leah Chandelier: Is this not absolutely gorgeous you guys? That tassel totally sets the entire thing off and it would look perfect anywhere really. Sometimes a space just needs that extra punch and it is things like this that do it.
Leather Pouf: When we begin our living room makeover a floor pouf is definitely on our list of wants. These are so versatile and I love that you can instantly have more seating if needed by pulling one of these out. Also, kids absolutely love them, I totally would have too if they were around back in my day.
Agate Bookends: First let me start by saying if you haven’t checked TJ Maxx for decor items lately you definitely should! They have an online site unlike other stores similar and they have wonderful items like these agate bookends at the best prices! You can get the look you want at half the cost. We will be buying a set of these for our built-ins no doubt, a similar pair I found online are more than double the cost so we can’t pass them up.
Stephanie Rug: Vintage rugs and vintage rug look-alikes are probably the hottest thing in home decor as we speak and I don’t see that changing for a long while. This one is so stunning and the price is amazing! Have you ever priced a real vintage rug? It is literally a small fortune even for the smallest sizes which is a no-no in a large space so save yourself so agony and cash by going with a cheaper alternative like this one.
Lena Table Lamp: Over the past several months I have gradually noticed more and more people are stepping away from the full-blown farmhouse style and go with a more modern glam style. This lamp couldn’t tie into that style any better if it tried. I love the hammered look and it is just the right size.
I hope you all enjoyed this week’s favorites and be sure to check back next week for our design plans for Jon’s room. Pssst Don’t forget to pin the image below.
