Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites, where I discuss things from the week that I love or have inspired me in some way. This week has been kind of crazy for us, for some reason I am having a harder time sleeping than normal so I have pretty much been like the walking dead all day! Also trying to keep the kids entertained thru the summer has not been easy.
Last weekend we had some individual and family photos taken and the experience was amazing as usual! If you live in the OKC metro area Autumn Anthony of Double-A Portraits is hands down one of the best. We ended up going to the Myriad Gardens in the downtown area which was absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with the way the photos turned out.
Tuesday evening when I came home after work I walked in thru the garage and heard a spraying noise so I opened the utility closet to check our hot water heater but couldn’t see anything so I went on with my business. About twenty minutes later I asked Wayne if he thought it sounded normal so he took a look at it only to find it had decided it was a great day to die so we spent the entire evening getting that fixed.
Luckily our hot water heater was the last large appliance we had in our home that we hadn’t replaced so if all works as it should we will be good on large appliances for the next 10 years or more. It gives us peace of mind knowing we won’t have those unexpected large purchases come out of nowhere for a while. Since we replaced it the with a larger tank it doesn’t run out as fast as it did before.
We have been taking a little break from the projects the past few weeks so we would be able to spend some quality time with the kids but I cannot wait to start tackling our living area. I have been brainstorming ideas of what I want it to look like for what seems like forever and I cannot get the pillows we used in Jons room off my mind! They looked so incredible that I think I may bite the bullet and just get him a different set so we can use those in the living area instead.
We have also been trying to choose a rug for the space which has not been easy. We were able to get one at a great price point from Rugs USA with their last sale but once it arrived I didn’t really care for it. So pay close attention to this week’s list because I’m pretty sure we have found the one we’re going to go with.

Navy Arm Chair: Nothing says modern glam to me more than a navy chair draped in velvet. This one has a unique wingback and I love how amazing it looks against the brass fixture also featured in this weeks list. The price on this one is average for a winged chair.
Conlin Light Blue Rug: After weeks of searching and one failed purchase attempt I finally stumbled upon this beauty and omg I can’t deal with how gorgeous it is! The color is perfect and after having a shag rug for two years I think we will enjoy the lower pile. It was always an easy choice when we had our brown furniture because I would just go with something ivory to brighten up the brown, this time it took a little more thought and lots of searching. The price on this is unbelievable so go check it out quick!
Ervin Lamp: This lamp caught my eye the moment I saw it, I love the watercolor look it has and the shape of the base. For a quick update in any space changing the lamps can really pack a punch.
Brass Semi Flush: Most of the time when people think of fixtures that make a statement they think of big chandeliers but this gorgeous gold fixture can do just that with half the space! I love the look and how unique it is, this would look great in an entryway, laundry or hallway and add the navy velvet chair above and you would be well on your way to a modern glam home.
Baremeadow Basket: No matter what you can never have too many baskets! They are the perfect way to add both storages to your space and an additional layer of texture to the room. Plus it has this darling tassel that is oh so trendy!
Stay safe this holiday weekend and I hope everyone has a great July 4th! After the holidays are over we will get back to our normal project schedule which I’m sure will involve me picking up a paint brush so my hope for this weekend is that I can get in some good rest and relaxation with my little family. Don’t forget to show some love by pinning the image below 🙂
