Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites! Where I discuss things from the week that I love or have inspired me in some way. This week we have been finalizing some of our plans for the living room design and I will be able to share that with you all very soon! Honestly, that is probably my favorite part of the process next to the actual reveal, I just love being able to share the plans and give you all a peek inside my brain. Let me tell you as far as brains go this room has no doubt taken every bit that I have but I know it will all be worth it in the end.
This room is the first room that has really been complicated and testing me at every single turn and it is so easy for me to see how so many people become stuck because stuck is my middle name these days! Overall I know exactly what I want and I have no doubt that we will get there it is just taking much longer than I anticipated. Sometimes that happens to the best of us and you must be willing to push through the confusion and make a decision.
What is your biggest struggle when it comes to designing /decorating a space? Is it not knowing where to start or maybe you have a hard time choosing pieces for the walls? I want to be able to provide you with the most helpful information possible and I would love it if you sent me a quick reply to this email so I can see where the sticking points lie.
Last Friday when I was browsing online I found some amazing prints by Jenny Komenda and I literally cannot get enough! She has a very wide range of options and several motel prints that I immediately went gaga over and ended up using them in my sister’s dorm design, also I am not ashamed to say I will be using a few around our home as well. My sister no doubt should have been born in the 70’s because she is a total flower child! So as her room was finished up and I realized that it ended up very 1970’s meets 2017 it made me happy that she will have a space that completely embodies the person she is and even the person she has yet to become. Unfortunately, we still have one piece to hang so in due time I will share.
Before we move on to this week’s list I want to fill you in on some major home decor sales going on this weekend in case you are on the hunt for something. Joss and Main 75% off select, Pottery Barn 40% off select, Wayfair 40% off select and West Elm 70% off select, those are some pretty great deal at some of the best stores so be sure to check them out!
Gold Sunburst Mirror: The detailed pattern on this mirror is what initially caught my eye, I think it would look great in an entryway or paired with an art piece like the wake ii print included in this week’s favorites. It adds just that little touch of glam to the space which I love!
Wake ii: If you have been following along for a while you know I am a total sucker for the gorgeous art prints at Minted! This one is no exception, I love the colors and the fact that it is so understated but also very bold as well. This piece would look good with almost any design style and the look could easily be transformed depending upon the frame you choose.
Josie Table Lamps: These lamps are so beautiful and I love the colored clear base which brings just a hint of color to the space. The height is just right for any size end table or console. Also, the price for PAIR is really great!
Taylor Tufted Chair: Lately I have been in search of a chair to create a small sitting area in the corner of our master bedroom and this one is perfect! It has a unique shape and I love the color. The thing I love most about investing in furniture such as chairs is the fact that you can always swap them and change things around as long as you choose a neutral color.
McCoy Console Table: This console table was totally the kind of look that would go perfectly with the Jenny Komenda motel prints I mentioned earlier. In my head, I see a lamp such a the Josie flanking either side of the print with this gorgeous acrylic console underneath and for added texture placing two x-leg stools under the table. 🙂
Next week I hope to have our living room design plans ready to reveal to you guys as well as the 2017 fall home decor trends you can expect to see in the coming months. Also, remember to shoot me an email and let me know what part of the design/decorating process you struggle with the most and the areas you would like to see more of on this blog. This is a great way for us to get to know each other better and also helps me to better understand where my readers are struggling the most and what area you guys have in the bag.
