Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites. Where I discuss things from the week that I love or have inspired me in some way!
This week has been a total win in the productivity department, I have managed to get on top of our never ending piles of laundry and feel like I have accomplished a lot of blogging work for the most part.
Wayne, on the other hand, has been a total boss and pretty much blew my productivity party out of the water, He single-handedly painted about half of the dreaded entryway/living/dining/kitchen!
Fortunately, he had a few days off of work so he was able to really get in there and hit it hard and to say I am grateful is an understatement because we all know how much I love painting.

On Tuesday, when I got home from work I was shocked at the difference painting alone, made to the space. The entire area looks so clean and bright, that’s just the look we were going for.
Now we still have some pretty difficult parts left like the built-ins and the wall of windows which will both take more taping and detail but overall we are both very happy with the change.
The entire process excites me but also freaks me out a little bit, you see the space is so large that if one thing is wrong they could all be wrong, so the pressure to get this right the first time is immense.
For the most part, I know exactly what I want and the look I am trying to achieve but there are so many little details that it has easily become very overwhelming.
In times like these, I reach for my project sheets from my signature design style notebook, so that I can keep track of every little detail and know exactly where things are headed before we get there.
This helps to ensure that small mistakes aren’t made and I always have something to look at that will show me the big picture because let’s face it, things can get kind of crazy in this head of mine.
Another exciting thing from the week (if you have already heard then your ahead of the game) in November Joanna Gaines and Target will be releasing their new line of home decor called Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, they will carry items like dining sets, table linens, vases etc. with most of the items being priced under $30!
Now, you may be saying, wait a minute I thought you were moving away from farmhouse style and that is true but it is still possible to mix certain pieces in without screaming farmhouse.
Joanna Gaines aside Target is by far one of my favorite stores to purchase home decor because not only do they have great prices but they also stay current in the items they offer so that popular round mirror you found for $300 elsewhere may only be $75 at Target. It’s good to always cross check their items especially if you are on a budget, you never know what you may find.
This week’s collection has some really cool finds that I wish I could incorporate into our decor like right now! These post’s make it so hard for me not to go completely crazy and throw caution to the wind but I will refrain, I mean taking it slow is what I preach to you right?
Lettie Chandelier: First up is this gorgeous beauty, it is likely that you have seen her twin sister making her rounds through the design world at a much higher price tag. I absolutely adore this both sisters but I am partial to this one because of the price and if I had more space in my kitchen I would totally snag it up.
Gray Buffalo Check Throw: With fall comes cooler weather and these cozy buffalo check throw blankets can add that perfect touch of warmth to your space. When it comes to blankets I am an absolute freak! Like to the point that my husband hates going shopping with me because you can almost bet I am going to buy a blanket each and every time. I know, I got problems.
All Is Quiet: This print is hands down one of my favorites, I love the white background and the overall look it would bring to the space. I am considering this one over the abstract in our entry or maybe I will take the steer down in the office and replace it with this one. Hmmm, decisions, decisions!
Console Table: Since I am currently working on our entryway I figured it only fitting that I include a console table today. This one is perfect for any style and if you have a neutral color palette colors like this are great instead of typical dark wood stain. Plus it has the perfect shelf underneath for baskets.
Seagrass Basket: Yesterday I was looking for some entryway decor and I spotted a basket that looked almost identical to this one, guess how much it was? $150.00! Are you freakin kidding me? I am all for investing in quality pieces but you will not catch me spending that much on ONE basket… Not that there is anything wrong with it, there are just so many other things I could buy with that $150.00. Insert TJ Maxx for the win, I found the same basket for under $50.00 now that’s more like it.
This week was also our first full week that grace had to start her new dance schedule, Jon started his new after school job and so far so good! I am enjoying the fact that I have an out on cooking five nights a week, because how awesome is it just to be a dude for the day and come home and actually sit down before 9:30 pm 🙂
We have so many things to do in the coming months that my head is spinning, I just keep telling myself that if I stay organized it will all be fine. There are also some amazing but super easy projects I have planned for you guys and I honestly cannot wait to get started. Please pin the image below to show me some love 🙂 Have a great weekend friends!
