Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites, where I discuss things from the week that I love or have inspired me in some way!
My heart is absolutely broken for the victims and their families of the Las Vegas shooting, I have really struggled to try and understand what makes someone do something so evil. What makes that person different than you and me?
These are the questions I have that will probably never be answered because sometimes there is just no explaining something so horrible.
It has also made me think of how common an act like going to a concert really is, I mean how many times have you done that very thing?
These people were there to have a good time and enjoy time with their loved ones but their entire world was shattered instead. It really makes you appreciate even the most mundane regular moments that I think we all take for granted at times.
Their lives will never be the same and that is truly heartbreaking. The survivors will never look at something as simple as going to a country music concert the same way. We all need to learn to love like it is our last day because it very well could be at any point.
With all of the tragedy this week it seems very inappropriate to even be discussing design let alone working on projects.
So for the most part have honestly just spent time reflecting on the way I want my life to be today. I don’t want to waste time doing things I do not enjoy or things that don’t bring good into my little world.
Life is way too short to waste it and after contemplating those things there are some definite changes I will be making in order to send my life in the direction that I want it to go.
Every now and then I think it is good to reflect on where you were at this time last year and truly ask yourself if you have moved any closer to your goals.
Have you set things in motion today that will help your tomorrow?
Just think on that for a little while and try to answer it honestly. If the answer is no then what changes can you make in order to get there? Create some goals and a plan to see where you are six months from now.

Last week’s collection was such a hit with everyone that I chose some things this week that I thought were kind of along the same lines. These items are so HOT right now and I am totally loving the way the entire home decor industry is headed in this direction. The modern California Cool look is my jam!
Leaf Lines: These prints are absolutely gorgeous and I love the fact that they are understated but also pack a punch. The gold frames are beautiful and would go with almost any style. They are sold separately and are a little more expensive than I would like but Pottery Barn is having their Friends and Family sale which gives you 20% your entire order for a limited time.
Rylan Console: Goodness why did I have to spot this baby AFTER we finished building our own??? Insert hand on face emoji! I absolutely love the wood detail and dark top on this one and the lines are gorgeous! The bottom is open which gives the illusion of more space and I wish so badly that I could own this piece.
Joanie Basket: These baskets are one of the most versatile items you can purchase. There are so many things you can use it for such as a planter for a fiddle leaf fig or storage for extra blankets or towels, the list seriously goes on. You can never have too many and this exact basket has been used in half of the rooms in our home.
Sputnik Chandelier: You all know I am a total sucker for sputnik’s and this one is no exception. I love that you can have a totally toned down space and add a sputnik and it instantly brings the entire space to life! You can easily mix this piece with any decor style and end up with a win. I love that the lines are not exactly perfect, I think it gives it just a little something extra.
Elana Ottoman: This X-leg bench is probably my favorite to date. I love the color and you can use them in almost any space where you could use extra seating such as the end of the bed, underneath a console table, etc. It is also priced very well.
As tragic as this week has been for so many out there, something just the opposite happened on October 2nd, 2017.
My childhood/teenhood/adulthood best friend gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl with a head full of hair and squeezable chubby cheeks you could kiss all day long! Unfortunately, we live about three hours apart so I was unable to be at the hospital for this precious miracles arrival but we will be meeting her very soon and to say I am excited is a complete understatement.
With all that has been wrong in the world lately, I figured I would end on a more happy note and what is a more happy moment than the birth of a beautiful baby girl. Have a great weekend!

Thank you Beth. It can be really difficult not to let it get you down but when you have things like beautiful little babies to celebrate, it makes it hard not to smile!
