Welcome to this week’s Friday Favorites, where I discuss things from the week that I love or have inspired me in some way!
After coming down from the Magnolia Market cloud I spent the weekend on it was time to get back to real life, the kind full of Halloween and a messy house. Why does that always seem to happen when you leave town? It’s like you come home and find things in worse shape than when you left.
So basically I spent the week in a candy-induced coma surrounded by boxes of decor and piles of laundry, the story of my life I swear.
We are making lots of progress on the living room as far as the basic decisions go but somehow I have become majorly distracted with our kitchen!
You see, we had originally intended to start on the kitchen right now but life happened and we are behind schedule. Anyway, I have had all of these ideas floating around and I once again am finding it hard to concentrate on the task at hand.

Our house has pretty much been a disaster area for nearly a year, we are right in the middle of a major overhaul of our living room and all I can think about is the freakin kitchen! I really need to get it together.
If you have been reading here a while you know that I have said countless times that I was going to get rid of all of the clutter and start fresh.
Well here’s the thing, have you ever tried to keep a clean house while painting, patching, hanging. redoing, along with totally changing every single decor piece all at the same time? It is nearly impossible yall!
I literally cannot tell you how many times I have found myself completely stressed out from all the crap that has taken over our space.
So this weekend I am going to do what I should have done a long time ago and go through our house and take out all of the decor pieces from the first time I decorated our home and box them up then do as many loads of laundry as I can possibly do in one weekend. For real this time…..
It should help us all feel a little less stressed out and it will also help save time since we won’t need to move it all around before we move on to the next step in our makeover process.
Wish me luck because this will be no easy feat.
This week’s Friday Favorites collection has tons of new items from some of my favorite spots to shop!
Aviva Velvet Chair: Velvet is making a huge comeback this season and I have been spotting it on everything from shoes and tops to home decor. This fabric is great in home decor because mixing texture is HUGE in design. Sometimes a space just needs an additional texture to bring it to life and what better one to add than velvet!
Savannah Basket: You all know that I am pretty much obsessed with baskets of any kind and the detail on this one totally drew me in.
Rita Lamp: This lamp is very understated and not the typical kind I usually post but there is something about it that I love. Maybe its the shape and the fact that you could use it in any space with the ability to swap it around to different places in your home without the fear that it won’t blend well with the other pieces in the room. Either way, I love it!
Ouiet: After we added the canvas from Target to our entryway, I have suddenly gone from not being sure about adding green to our decor to completely loving the way it looks in our home. Sometimes things like this happen by accident and they end up being even better than you ever imagined and this print would blend very well with the current direction our home is taking.
Newport Cross & French Stripe Pillow: These are just two of my favorites from Mcgee & Co’s new pillow line, if you haven’t viewed the entire collection you can do that here. They are all gorgeous and perfect to mix and match selections. I love the Newport Cross and the French Stripe paired with a cognac leather pillow to quickly give you an eclectic look and they are priced extremely well for the quality.
Now that the Halloween dust has officially settled its time for my absolute favorite time of year, Christmas! Break out the decorations and all of the beautiful lights, and Hallmark marathons!
To me it really doesn’t get much better than Christmas, I love how magical even the most normal room becomes the moment you add all of the sparkling lights and curling up by the fire with the tree lighting up the space is one of my favorite things to do!
The past few years I have been a total slacker and delayed putting our tree up until mid-November, not this time though. I am going to get it knocked out so it can be up as long as possible. As soon as I can get this house cleaned up.
Are you waiting until after Christmas or are you going to go for it early like me?
