Can you believe Christmas is just right around the corner? Pretty soon our homes will be transformed and our pumpkins will be replaced with twinkling lights and Christmas Trees.
Sometimes decorating for Christmas can be a bit overwhelming when you add it to the other nine million things we all have to do. So this year I have compiled a list of my Top Christmas Decor Ideas.
These are pieces that are either priced really well or things I have used in my own home. Of course, I will be having a Christmas Tour once I get our house finished but today is all about the decor.
Christmas is so special to my family and we really go all out with decorating. Each child typically has their own Christmas Tree in the bedroom (this is something that my stepmom always done for the kids and I have continued it with mine so thanks, Jims 🙂
We also have our own special traditions we do each year which makes it such an exciting time.
On the flip side of that, it can also be a very stressful time as well. Between the mile-long to-do list, short shopping timeframe, out of town trips to see family, guests visiting and all of those last minute shopping trips it can get very stressful for me and I couldn’t imagine having one more thing to add to it.
That being said you shouldn’t ever have to fret when it comes to decorating your home for the holidays and to make things easier I have done some of the legwork for you.
When we moved into our house several years ago it was during the summer so the last thing on our minds at the time was Christmas. We had moved from a very small home with regular ceilings, into a much larger home with 10 ft ceilings.
Fast forward to winter 2015, we began prepping our home for Christmas and unpacked our tree only to find that it looked absolutely laughable in the new house!
We tried propping it up on a wooden box but it still wasn’t tall enough so we decided we would have to buy a 9 ft tree to go with the high ceilings.
Before that I had never even purchased my own Christmas Tree, somehow I had always ended up with a hand me down, so I was especially shocked when I started pricing 9 ft trees.
Let’s be real here, they are pretty freakin expensive and at a time when you are concerned about the Christmas budget, the last thing you want to add is a $700 Christmas Tree!
So I searched and searched until I finally found a tree that was not only affordable but looked amazing as well. It ended up being just as great once we brought it home and I am still happy with the purchase two years later.

Top Christmas Tree Picks
85″ Flocked Spruce: This flocked spruce comes in at 85″ and is packed full of lights. I have witnessed this one in action and although it does come a little warped out of the box it fluffs up very nicely. If you are on the hunt for a flocked tree this year then this one comes highly recommended and that price is AMAZING!
Vickerman 9′ Flocked: Unfortunately, the one above does not come in a 9′ option but I was able to find this one and it looks just as good as the option above in my opinion. Anytime you are purchasing a Christmas Tree make sure you think into the future when choosing the shape and style. Will you love it just as much next year? If you cannot answer that with a yes I recommend that you continue looking.
5’5″ Unlit Balsam: I absolutely love the look of this tree! Not only does it look like the real deal, you can see each and every ornament due to the branches not being so full. As soon as I spotted this option I knew it would be perfect for the kids bedrooms. It is unlit but the price is great and I have some special lighting plans for it.
9″ Prelit Woodlake Spruce: If a green tree is your thing and you are on the hunt for a 9″ prelit option then this one is by far the best priced, most good looking tree I have found. This is the option we went with for our main tree and I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. It makes our home look so grand and is super easy to put together.
7.5′ Blue Spruce: This blue spruce is priced really well and like the tree above looks very full. If you are into the traditional Christmas Tree then something along this line is great. It won’t cost you an arm and a leg and these trees usually hold up very well when stored properly.
Top Christmas Decor Picks
Faux Cedar Wreath: A holiday wreath is a perfect way to greet your guests, I love how real this piece looks and the fact that it can be reused year after year.
Moravian Gold Topper: This stunning topper would be the perfect addition to any tree and the gorgeous gold color would totally top off any Christmas look.
Glitter Tabletop Trees: You can’t forget about those other areas when decorating, you want to make the house look cohesive and that means carrying a touch of Christmas to those other areas of your home. These would even look great as part of a centerpiece.
Galvanized Metal Set: I am sure you have probably spotted the much more expensive older brother to this set. This one is very similar in looks but so much better in price! I expect it to go very quickly.
Bash Gold Tree Collar: For the past few years so many have been saying goodbye to the fabric tree skirt and hello to the collar! You can find these in many different options but this gold one is by far my favorite!
Prelit Alpine Set: This small alpine set would be the perfect addition to any front porch. Find a few olive buckets or use small tree skirts to give your porch a big dose of Christmas spirit.
Noel Banner: Banners such as this one are great for decorating a mantle or even draped across the tree.
Woven Tree Collar: If neutral is a little more your speed then this woven tree collar will not disappoint! Adding woven accents is a great way to add more texture to the space and can easily give your home a more layered look. This one is on sale for a limited time and I suspect it will probably sell out before long so if you have been thinking about a tree collar get it while you can.
This week is Christmas decorating time at our house, some may say its too early but I love Christmas and the longer I can have the tree up without looking totally insane the better! We will wait a little longer for the gingerbread house and baking but for now, my Christmas lovin heart is happy 🙂
Do you have any Christmas traditions that you do with your family every year? I would love to hear about them and who knows maybe we can pick up a few new ones this year.
